Reliable for kitchen lighting

I've ordered from 1800Lighting several times now. This time I got some new island lights for the kitchen. As usual, the quality was solid and what I expected. Shipping was quick, arrived in 4 days this time which was faster than my last order for a ceiling fan. Their selection is always good, which is why I keep coming back for different projects. Never had a broken item yet.

New bathroom vanity light arrived quickly

I ordered a new bathroom vanity light last week. The website was easy to navigate, found what I wanted pretty fast. Checkout was straightforward. I got an email confirmation right away. It shipped out the next day and arrived in 6 days, which was pretty good considering I'm in California. The packaging was very secure, no damage to the fixture at all. Installation was simple enough, everything needed was included. The light looks great in the bathroom. I had a quick question about a different product before ordering, and customer service responded to my email within a day, which was helpful. Overall, a smooth experience from start to finish.

Are their 'clearance' items actually decent or is it just a bunch of stuff nobody wants?

D Dan 2 months ago

Got a couple of outdoor lights from clearance last year, 50% off and they're still going strong. Definitely worth looking through.

C Cleo L. 2 months ago

Yeah, I've had good luck with their clearance, sometimes it's just older models or overstock. Just make sure to double-check the return policy for those.

Has anyone used one of those 10% off coupons with a clearance item? Do they stack?

D Dana H. 2 months ago

Nope, tried it once. Most coupons don't work on clearance or sale stuff, and you usually can't combine them either.

P Paula 2 months ago

Nah, they're pretty strict about the one coupon per order thing, and luxury brands are almost always excluded too. Read the fine print on the coupon.

How does their pricing compare to Lamps Plus or Build with Ferguson? Seems like a lot of similar stuff.

D Dan E. 2 months ago

I find 1800Lighting often has better sales, especially on specific brands. Worth comparing if you're looking for a good deal.

N Nina 2 months ago

For some brands, their prices are really competitive, sometimes even better. But yeah, always cross-check, especially during sales events.

Is 1800Lighting legit? Or is it one of those drop shippers that sells knockoffs?

D Derek W. 1 month ago

They're totally legit, they're actually Capitol Lighting which has been around forever. Quality stuff.

D Derek 1 month ago

It's legit. They've been in business for ages, over a hundred years I think. Definitely not a scam.

thinking about grabbing a big order for a reno. Do they have any special pricing for large purchases?

J Jared Silva 2 months ago

Pretty sure they do, I remember seeing something about bulk discounts. Might be worth calling them or hitting up their chat.

J James 2 months ago

Yeah, if you're a trade professional, they have a whole program for that too, which usually includes better pricing.

Hey, wondering how long shipping usually takes for an order to, say, Seattle? Need a new pendant light kinda quick.

N Noor Torres 1 month ago

Mine took about a week to get to California, so Seattle should be similar, maybe a little less.

D Daisy Whitfield 1 month ago

Totally depends on the item, some stuff ships faster than others. Check the product page for an estimate, it's usually there.

What's their return policy like? Bought a light once from another place and returning it was a nightmare.

J Jared 2 months ago

Returns were super easy for me. Just printed a label and sent it back, got my refund quickly.

S Sarah N. 2 months ago

Yeah returns were easy, did it last month. Just make sure you keep the original packaging, that's usually the main thing.
